Ross on Wye Pancake Races Shove Tuesday 12th February 2013 from 3.00pm

Come and join in the fun of the pancake races

The Mayor of Ross-on-Wye, Cllr David Ravenscoft, will be supporting the famous Ross-on-Wye Pancake Day Races which will be taking place through the main street of the town on Shove Tuesday 12th February, culminating in front of the Market House Visitor Centre from 3.00pm

Prizes for winners and the  Best Dressed Pinny Competition (sponsored by Essential Sewing) at 4.30pm in the Market Square.

The races are approximately 50 meters, each entrant is to provide their own Frying Pan and each person must wear non-slip shoes suitable for running and an apron. Pancakes will be provided and each participant will be required to toss pancakes at the beginning, middle and end of the race.

Entry fee is £1 per person if pre-booked (£3 on the day) Any extra funds raised will be donated to the Association of Ross Traders to raise the profile of the town for the benefit of visitors and traders.

Local shop keepers, businesses and individuals who would like to take part should get in touch with Helen Kiddy at Essential Sewing Services in Gloucester Road on 01989 566406. Entry forms are also be available at various places in the town from: Essential Sewing Services, Tudor Sweets, Chic children s boutique  and The Ross Gazette office

Wilton Court will be  serving pancakes between 3.00 and 4.00 pm Lemon and Sugar £1.00 Toffee Sauce£1.50 and  Raspberry Sauce  £1.50 Please come and join in the fun
