Sunday 27: Advent carol service, 3.30pm- sung by the cathedral choir: All welcome: no tickets required.

Tuesday 29: A Service for advent in London, 6.30pm- Hereford Cathedral choir in London at The Guards’ chapel, wellington Barracks in support of Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust, sponsored by Old Market Hereford and British Land. Wednesday 30th: Military wives ” Home for Christmas”, 7:30pm- join them for a spectacular concert from the famous Military wives choirs including Innsworth and Brize Norton choirs, performing in the cathedral as part of their national tour with a special guest support artist. Saturday 3: Christmas Sparkle, 1:15pm- Lunch time organ recital of Advent and Christmas favourites given by Peter Dyke, with large screen protection. Free with retiring collection in support of Hereford cathedral perpetual trust.

Sunday 4: Boy bishop ceremony, 3.30pm- Choral evening featuring the traditional enthronement of a former chorister as boy bishop of hereford.

Wednesday 7: Ex cathedra: christmas music by candlelight, 7.30pm- we welcome back ex cathedra who bring a concert of old favourites, stunning music and hidden gems, all interspersed with readings that capture the meaning and humour of the season. Sunday 11: St Michaels Hospice ‘light up a life’ service, 5.30pm

Tuesday 13th: schools donkey nativity, 11am- A nativity carol service for schools, telling the story of christmas with the help of KS2 children, donkeys and other animals. Booking is essential from the education department on 01432 374256 or email

Friday 16: Christmas craft and food fair, 3.30pm-7pm- join us for the launch over 30 stalls of local crafts, food and drink, seasonal produce and gifts with mince pies, hot coffee, mulled wine & entertainment. All welcome, free entry, supporting a range of Herefordshire charities.

Saturday 17: Christmas craft and food fair with carols for shoppers, 9.30am-4pm- the fair continues with morning entertainments and carols for shoppers from 1pm. All welcome: free entry

Christmas eve: Christingle nativity service, 3pm- a celebration of christmas light for children and families with the telling of christmas story and the distribution of christingles

Christmas day: holy communion with hymns, 8am
