Creativity is a good cause

Celebrated designer and broadcaster Chris Beardshaw and the Malvern Spring Gardening Show are looking for budding plant Picassos to show off their skills for an exciting new feature for 2012 – The Painting with Plants Gallery
Plant lovers who like to take part are invited to create a beautiful flower bed planting scheme, which creatively represents either a painting (famous or not), photograph, landscape or view.
Ten displays will be selected for the Malvern Spring Gardening Show at the Three Counties Showground from May 10-13. Three of these will be chosen during the event to win £1000 for their charity, local group, school or good cause.
As part of another show attraction, plantsman and award-winning garden designer, Paul Hervey-Brookes is looking for gardening enthusiasts to share their expertise in the plants and people arena theatre.
Anyone who opens their garden to the public and is bursting to let other gardeners in on their secrets could be on their way to being a gardening show expert on Paul’s panel.
Paul, who has designed several show gardens for both the Malvern and Chelsea Flower Shows said: ‘I thought it would be a great idea to ask gardeners who open their gardens for charity to have an opportunity to talk about their gardens, how they developed them, plants they particularly enjoy and the charities they support’
Keen gardeners who are interested in joining Paul Hervey-Brookes at the Malvern Spring Gardening show are invited to email by February 1. Anyone interested in taking part in the Painting with Plants Gallery can find out more by contacting Nina Acton on 01684 584919.
