Countdown to the Ross-on-Wye May Fayre 2013!

Building on the success of last year’s May Fayre, which brought thousands of people to Ross, the Association of Ross Traders (ART) and a fantastic group of local community volunteers are busy organising the 2013 May Fayre.  Put the date in your diary – bank holiday Monday 27th May, and look forward to a great day packed full of entertainment throughout the town centre in Ross.

The streets of Ross town centre will be temporarily pedestrianised and parking will be free for this special event.  The town’s streets will be lined with food, craft and gift stalls, 5 entertainment stages, children’s entertainment galore, street theatre and even a pop-up zoo. We’ll be repeating the very popular ‘Ross Has Got Talent’ open mic stage again, so if you’d like to perform do get in contact to book a slot, or turn up on the day to show off your talents.

If you would like to book a stall please do get in touch as soon as possible as spaces are limited.

Volunteers are contacting ART to offer their services in assisting the event on the day, in a variety of roles, including stewards, helping with street banners and setting up entertainment areas, to name but a few.    More help is urgently needed, so don’t be shy in coming forward to assist with this great community event.

Ross Town Council have been very supportive in part-funding the event, but sponsors are still needed, and any local businesses or companies that would like to be associated with the Fayre are urged to contact ART as soon as possible. The bigger the budget the association can raise, the better the Fayre will be. Everyone organising the Fayre and working for it is doing so on a purely voluntary basis and are unpaid. This is all about communities working for themselves and for the enhancement of the town they love, live or work in.

To enquire about stalls, offering your assistance, performing, booking a slot on the Ross Has Got Talent Stage, sponsorship, and general enquiries, please email ART Event Organiser David MacGregor at , or pop in to see him or his wife Yolanda at Field Fayre – The Organic Store, 18-19 Broad St, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, HR9 7EA.  And don’t forget to put the date for this fantastic community event on your calendar!
