Helen, Roger & friends went to visit Morgan Motor company this week in the cotswolds- Their pictures are attached!

 

For 100 years the Morgan Motor Company have been building exciting sports cars in the beautiful spa town of Malvern in Worcestershire. Morgan cars are famous the world over for their unique blend of charisma, quality materials, craftsmanship, technology and performance.

You can take a guided tour and see skilled craftsmen at work as they hand make their bespoke sports cars. Traditional car manufacturing combined with exciting cutting edge technology creates a tour like no other!! Tours cost £20.00 per person, £10.00 children aged 5-11 ( under 5 are not permitted), must be pre-booked. Some tours are available to book online and incur an additional booking fee.

Chepstow Festival 24th June- 24th July 2016

downloadWith more open- air theatre productions than anywhere else in Wales, great music, inspiring and informative talks, poetry, dance and dancing, running and racing and finishing with fireworks to round off the bi-centenary celebrations of the beautiful Wye Bridge the Chepstow Festival is a four week long celebration of the Arts and community in the town and surrounds. Showcasing more of the towns extraordinary  talent is ” Bands on the Bandstand” the free music summer Sunday afternoons funded by Chepstow Town Council, at the truly beautiful venue of the riverside gardens overlooking the River Wye and its graceful 200 year old bridge.

During this years festival you will hear chepstow  Voice Choir, the Monmouth Big Band, the Don Fox Scandal a young chepstow band singing funk rock jazz swing and blues all together for an irresistibly dance-able set ( so get your dancing shoes on).  Twysted River who took inspiration for their name from the beautiful River Wye, playig an exciting mix of Blues Rock and coming from further afield the FB Pocket Orchestra on the last Sunday of the the festival River Wye bridge celebration afternoon, takes listeners back in time to the hot jazz, blues, ragtime and popular dances of the 1920’s and 30s and even earlier.

In the even more splendid surroundings of the lower courtyard of our majestic medieval castle, enjoying the beauty of being outdoors but with the benefit of the canopy for protection, the Chepstow Music centre showcase in the evening of Sunday 10th July, presents the best of local talent- ensembles and individual performances, including the community orchestra, gospel choir, jazz bands, madrigal and renaissance brass groups.

The castle walls will resound to music of a very different kind, when Chepstow musical youth theatre, seniors, bring Disney camp rock: The musical to town! This new musical, based on the hit Disney channel original movies camp rock and camp rock 2: The final jam opens with Mitchie and her friends arriving at camp rock ready to spend another summer jamming out and having the time of their lives. But the new flashy camp star across the lake now threatens camp rocks very existence. CMYT will be giving three evenings performances and a Saturday matinee from Thursday 14th to Saturday 15th July.

Wilton Court is once again Winner of the ”Forester Restaurant of the Year” 2016

Wilton Court Restaurant with rooms, Ross on Wye has once again been recognised as ‘’Restaurant of the Year’’ in the ‘’Forester Business Awards’’ 2016.

The award was presented to Head Chef Rachael Williams and Stef Marshall Assistant Manager  at the awards Gala dinner held at the Bells Hotel & Forest of Dean Golf and Bowls Club, Coleford on Thursday 21st April 2016

Owners Roger and Helen Wynn are  absolutely delighted at Wilton Court’s hat trick of awards this week which  include  maintaining   their  5 Gold Stars and 2 Rosettes  after their  AA inspection  on the 20th April. They have also  recently been awarded a Gold Award from Visit Wales for 2016

Helen said ‘’It is the teamwork and all the hard work that everyone puts in that makes it happen. We are very proud’’.
